Mandy Lau

Counsellor


Mandy Lau is a forensic psychologist who began her career working with adults in the forensic setting. She has over 13 years of experience in working with vulnerable adults, most of whom have had adverse childhood experiences and relational trauma. Mandy has an interest in working with children with anxiety disorders, ADHD, and behaviour and conduct problems. She supports neurodiversity affirming practice and adopts a strength-based approach to working with her clients. 

 

She is skilled in using techniques from cognitive behaviour therapy, schema therapy, dialectic behavioural therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy to help her clients with addressing challenges in their lives and improving their functioning. Mandy completed a Master of Psychology (Forensic) at University of New South Wales and is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology (Post-registration).

 

Mandy applies her understanding of theoretical underpinnings of mental health disorders and interventions to guide case formulation and treatment in working with children and adolescents and their support network.

 

Working days:
